This Cookie Policy explains how Pickle HK uses cookies and similar browser storage on the Pickle HK website (the “Site”). It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser when you visit a website. Cookies can be set by the site you are on (first-party) or by other services embedded in the page (third-party). Similar technologies include localStorage, sessionStorage, and pixel tags.
2. What we currently use
The Site is a static publication. As of the “Last updated” date, we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregated traffic and engagement (for example page views, CTA clicks, and outbound link clicks). We do not run Meta Pixel, advertising pixels, or retargeting tools.
Browser storage and similar tech that may exist when you visit:
- Google Analytics: Google may set cookies or use similar technologies on Google-controlled domains (such as
google-analytics.com/googletagmanager.com) to measure Site usage. See Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses data from sites that use its services. - Standard browser cache to make the Site load faster on repeat visits.
- Locale preference (potential): if we add a feature that remembers your language choice, it may be stored locally on your device. This is purely functional and not shared with anyone.
- Third-party fonts: when your browser fetches Google Fonts, Google may set technical cookies on its own domain (
fonts.googleapis.com,fonts.gstatic.com). We do not receive or use those cookies for advertising.
3. Why this matters
We use analytics for site improvement, not for advertising. We do not currently show a cookie consent banner; if legal requirements for visitors in your region change, or if we add advertising trackers, we will update this page and the Privacy Policy, surface a clear notice, and where required offer a consent control before non-essential cookies are set.
4. Controlling cookies in your browser
You can manage or delete cookies and local storage at any time using your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies.
You can also use Google Analytics opt-out browser add-ons where available. Blocking cookies may affect how some third-party features work; core Site content remains readable.
5. Do Not Track
We do not currently change analytics behaviour based on a browser “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. You can limit analytics via browser cookie controls or Google’s opt-out tools described above.
6. Changes to this policy
If we change how we use analytics, embeds, or cookies, this page will be updated and the “Last updated” date will reflect the change. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site for a reasonable period.
